Take this code for the example in the .htaccess.
When you do that actually you tell the server to ask the browser to load the new site when the visitors are in the old domain name. So, how about the searching engine? The searching engine also follow the link to index the new URL, and transfer the page rank of your old page to the new one.
But what if we don’t have the .htaccess file or the web host doesn’t allow doing so? Well, you could set up an automatically redirecting page by inserting the following
Well, I hope this tutorial will help you a lot out there!! Adios!!!
Since, I did cover so much on the basic thing about web hosting, so I got no such idea on the basic topic that I should discuss about. Suddenly, I thought about an issue on changing the url. For an example a company of beer maker, the

3. Update your DNS of the domain name
I do consider that you’ve been doing those 2 steps above. Hence, this is the time on working in the technical things. Since you are using the new web hosting so, you need to know on what is the DNS of the new web hosting. Copy the DNS number.
4. Add your domain name to the new web hosting.
Login to your helm or cpanel account. Choose on add on domain. If your DNS did propagates well, there is no problem in adding the domain name in the account. But, if it doesn’t an error message will be appeared on telling the DNS number is not match. That’s mean; you need to wait some other couple of hours.
If every thing is completely perfect, you could start to host your files to your new web hosting. Again, use the FTP software to make the uploading files. After you do this step, upload the database that you had save from the old server. Just use your .txt database file and it’s done!
mmm…for these few days, I’ve been thinking hardly on the topic or the web hosting tutorial that should I bring into this web hosting blog. After thinking in some while and being in some forum, reviewing their problems suddenly I got an idea. Thus, I’m going to come out with tutorial on the few actions that we should take if we are changing the new web hosting account. Remember, in this article I don’t mean we are changing our web site’s domain name. We only move to the new web hosting. It’s like we are moving to the new house. (I did explain on this in the last article)
- Copy all the files to your machine
Since you are moving the sites to the new web host, so the very first thing that you should do is copy all the files from the web hosting. What I mean is if you do have the web site or a system, copy all of them from the server. You could do that by using any FTP software. If you are kind of me (I save those files in my local machine all the time) so you could skip this stage.
2. Copy your database
This is one of the most crucial parts. You really need to copy the database in order to make sure when you are launching the web site in the new web hosting there are no such most update listing, info or the new members of the site been dropped since there is no such backup for the database.
Some of my friends ask me on how to copy the database from the server. They told me they hate to build up the database again. LOL!! It’s easy, if you are using the mySql just go to the list of the databse in your web server and choose which one of them. Then, you just dump the mySQL and save it as .txt. The size is extremely light but yet it’s really powerful though.Since there are 5 steps to be included in the tutorial so I make a decision to split up the tutorial to be in part1 and part2. Hope you guys enjoy this article and may it could help you in your web hosting management. Have a nice day!!

That's not true. Some of my friends simply confuse by this issue too. So, I wish to make the simplest example in order to make all of us understand clearly on changing the web hosting matter. As an example we live in the house with our friends : ellen, sally and sarah. Due to some reasons all of us are moving to the new house.
So, what could we figure it out is, the house is the web hosting. Thus, the new house is the new web hosting. The domain names are me, myself, ellen, sally and sarah. In this matter, all of us being together move in the new house. We are not changing our name, right?? Ha ha ha ha...that's the best example that I could think for the matter.
I hope this article do help a lot of people that wonder on what is all about on changing the web server. I'll come tomorrow with tips on changing the web server. Adios!!

Before you choose the service let me give you the brief on what the virtual private server is.
A virtual private server (VPS, is also known as Virtual Dedicated Server or VDS) is a method of partitioning a physical server computer into multiple servers that each has the appearance and capabilities of running on its own dedicated machine. Each virtual server can run its own full-fledged operating system, and each server can be independently rebooted.
Well, so far we do know what the virtual private server is. But, what the exact advantage on us if we are using the VPS feature as our web hosting account?
Let us take a look on the usage of the VPS. The virtual private server bring the gap between the shared web hosting and dedicated web hosting service, giving the independence for the customer for their software terms but also give the less cost compare the physical private server. The VPS is not about cutting the cost only to the customers but they give the customers have the superuser-level access to the operating system, and could install any software that could run within the OS. For the beginner, I think you should consider on this part since sometimes our internet connection gives some ban for the web hosting account. Thus, if we do have this feature we could install some software to pass by the ban.
I hope this article could help you a lot out there. Have a nice day!!

So, how to make sure on it? Well, you could ask the support team of the web hosting. Nowadays, almost the web hosting company do support the feature but, if they don't this is the right time to change them to be the better one. It must be hard for you to insert the adsense code for every single page in your websites. Just imagine if you do have 1000 pages are you willing to insert 1000 time? Are you willing to do so?

For the most common, there are some folders in the web hosting : www, cgi and etc. Well, if you want to host your .net and php choose the www folder and if you want to host the perl files, choose the cgi folder. I hope this this short tutorial will help all of the newbies out there.
But, in this post, I just emphasized on Perl web hosting. Some of my friends did ask me on it. I don't know why they simply faced some trouble to find the Perl web hosting provider. So, I did some study and found some useful list on it. So, here are the listings :
This free web host provides you with 300 MB of disk space, 8 GB of data bandwidth, the ability to host up to 5 domains, 5 subdomains, FTP access, 1 POP3 email account with SMTP, MySQL, PHP, Perl, etc.
This site provides you with 100 MB of data storage, 3 GB of data transfer, 3 POP3 email addresses, 3 email addresses, 1 MySQL database with 5 MB storage, CGI-BIN Perl, PHP, FrontPage extensions, web statistics, FTP access, etc. Note that you will not be able to send mail using your PHP or Perl scripts. Your files are limited to 500 KB in size.

First of all, make a copy of your database and the web site's file from your server. Test it in your local machine. If you can't view the admin page, that's mean, you have to use your back and simply upload the new files and the new database.
In my case, I did the steps that I mentioned above but the result made me shocked! Nothing wrong with the database and the files. So what should I do? Well, remove the domain name from the web hosting. For the domain name, clear up all the DNS number (web hosting number).
Just let it be around 2/3 days. Then, re do all the steps for propagating for the web hosting and the domain name. By these steps I did manage my web hosting problem and I hope this tips will give you some ideas on dealing with them. :)

There are so many handsome offers on web hosting package. They claim with unlimited web hosting. For the newbie or any user that glance to the advertisement, it might be a golden box for our web hosting resource. But before you sign up you'd better examine all the details of any unlimited web hosting plan offers.
Some unlimited web hosting plan put the unlimited number of domains that you wish to operate to. The other plans might allow you to operate what we call unlimited for many people usage, 30 domain, perhaps.
You have to check what the unlimited is all about
Don't ever make the mistake of unlimited sub domain. Most of the web hosting package ofer the unlimited sub domain feature. So, don't be confused. These plans come with a very good deal offer and some of them just been bad. Some of them may offer an unlimited bandwidth but limit the number of add on domain to be one.
These kind of plans may save your money and you may get some profits by handling lot of domain names in one server.
The next issue is who will manage the hosting? Are the webmaster for all those web or your customers require themselves to be the webmaster?. If you are the only one webmaster, that's totally fine but if there are many webmasters, you'll find some problem in the security risk.

This kind of situation may effect on the capability on loading the pages. Besides, the are two other ways to increase the loading rate of your page. 1. Your bandwidth server 2. Learn how to ping them!
I give you a real simple example. Sometimes when we type www.yahoo.com, it loads rapidly but sometimes when we type www.xxx.com it loads for ages. For the users yahoo website is the best because yahoo could load very fastly. That's mean they don't waste their time for waiting the site load in perfect. If your web will load for ages there is a probability many users of web will run away.So How fast your site is.
Needless to say, speed is one the factors web users take into consideration when visiting a website. If they notice that a website's response is slow, they already deem the site to be unreliable and unworthy of their trust. But, please don't let this happen to your website. Make sure that it has the ability to respond to users' requests very quickly because speed is now the measure of a website's success. So, how do you know if your website is fast enough to pass the standards of today's Internet speed demons?
220.127.116.11 - - [28/Aug/2007:09:12:66 -0800] "GET /image.jpg HTTP/1.1" 200 1406 "-" "Mozilla/5.0 (Windows; U; Windows NT 5.0; rv:1.7.3) Gecko/20040913 Firefox/0.10.1" "www.coolestwebsite.com"If you're using cPanel web hosting, then you might have encountered the Raw Access Logs icon located at the main interface. By clicking this, you'll gain access to your Raw Access logs menu wherein a list of your managed domain or subdomains are shown. To view the raw access logs of any of your managed domain, just select one and download it. Open the log file using a text editor and begin studying its contents because doing so can benefit you in three (3) ways:
1. Spot Abusive Users
With a raw access logs file, you can detect if somebody is messing around with your files. If you spotted an abusive user, ban his IP address found on the raw access logs file, so he can no longer request files from your domain.
2. Clean Up Clutters
You can check which of your files is using up too much bandwidth from file requests using raw logs files. If this file is not serving a good purpose, then it's time to get rid of it to avoid consuming a large amount of bandwidth.
3. Get Ready for Some Changes
You see, raw access logs will help you determine if there's a need to buy additional space or a hosting account upgrade. Requests of important files may increase in numbers over time. And, the only way to cope with this is by applying changes, like getting yourself a new host or a higher hosting plan.

Small websites are hosted on shared servers. A shared sever can contain hundreds of other websites. The entire website hosted on the shared server share an IP address with each other. Therefore dedicated server is best options for staring new large website.
Dedicated server can be used as Web server, Mail server, Database server or for your custom application which require huge server resources and bandwidth. Dedicated Servers are preferred for hosting large size web sites.Hosting your website on dedicated server give you more flexibility on your hosting environment. If you run a high traffic website then dedicated server is the best option. Dedicated server lets you run your customized application with full priority and dedicated resources.
The server is dedicated to the customer and customer can host their all websites. Clients can host unlimited website on Dedicated Server. Website Company provides good customer service for Dedicated Server.
Generally, some combination of the acquired host or the buyer will communicate the details of the transition to the customers, outlining the upcoming change. A failure to communicate the change at all would probably be the first sign of a rough transition to come. Some post a notice on their front Web page, others will release the news in the form of a press release, blog post, email or forum thread. Whatever the method, hosting providers seem to understand that their customers need to know what's going on, especially when there's a chance of downtime or other minor service issues. Though downtime can be problematic, scheduled downtime can, at least, be planned around, and your customers can be warned.
The problem most likely to cause upset during the transition is downtime. Although it's possible your service won't go down, if your hosting provider has properly prepared, sometimes you'll encounter an outage. In most cases these problems will be fixed quickly, and compensation issued. In rare cases, downtime and instability will plague the transition. It might not be a bad idea to do some research on a suitable backup host in case this sort of problem occurs.
Be prepared for the possibility that other issues could crop up with your new provider delivering a different style of customer service, glitches in email servers or lost emails, billing system problems, or in rare cases, information being lost during the migration process.
Overall, things go smoother if your hosting provider is open and communicative during the transition. It's likely that they'll try to fix your issues as quickly as possible as soon as they're done with the migration process. Not all Web hosts are that transparent, however, and if yours isn't, decide whether you want to wait for problems to occur, or take some precautions in advance.

But I don't want to bundle all issue in one package. In this posting I only talk about the Ecommerce Web Hosting. Actually the general function is to host a web or a system. There are no big differences from the others. But since we are talking about the Ecommerce, so the main purpose of having the Ecommerce web site or system is we want to allow those transaction via online. The transaction is absolutely the online payment that is made by the clients around the world.
So the main features in this ecommerce hosting are the product management since we want the Customizable, Automated Product Input & Management,Multiple Product Options,Live Stock Status and SmartMatch™ Technology,Real Time Inventory Management and many other functions in our site.
Besides, the hosting provider also provides customizable, administration and of course the feature of payment colletion va credit cards, pay pal, egold or even checks.
As a conclusion, in the non ecommerce web hosting we can't get all these features for the basic. That's mean we can't do the online money transaction without the features. So, that's it for now, cheers to all!
Sometimes it's really important for us to view the information for the owner of the web hosting. As an example a company claims that they are the USA web hosting company and do the business online for whole 16 years. So as smart user we can could check who they are by the who.is.
By using the who.is, we could know very well about the domain name registration, IP adress, the country where they register the domain, NIC handles and many more. So if they claim they are from USA but in the who.is we could see the IP is from Nigeria...so it's absolutely a big liar git!
this is an example of who.is. Go to http://www.who.is. You just fill any url that u wish to check out. Press the button and the information will lay down to you.
As a conclusion, the who.is function is very helpful for all of us on order to avoid such scam around. I hope this posting will help you guys a lot!

Reseller web hosting is someone who sells the web hosting package to the others. Let say the client will buy the web server from company A but the support system and the other tedious job will be handled by company B. Why? The truth is company A is not the real party who provides the web server. This company only helps the company B to sell their web server packages. So that's what we call as reseller web hosting.
So what do you think? I'm giving you a hint to those who love to make money online! It's sort of being a sub contractor but you could create your very own web hosting packages and prices that could gain such profits to your client! This Reseller Web Hosting package is such a great way for a small company to exceed their business features such as a web design or system developer company. That's mean they could offer the whole meal package for their clients. Web design or system with web hosting package with their own brand name.
I hope this short explanation helps you guys out there especially to the newbies in understanding what the reseller web hosting is.

Let me gives you some other tips in choosing them... 1st of all : list down all of needs and the issue that makes u confuse. In this stage I assume you to make a rough decision on the host provider. Go to email them or chat with them...Ask all your web hosting requirements and those issue that make you confuse.
This is the most critical part...check out yr email or their support ticket...are they giving you the precise answer for the issue? how long they take to give the feed back?
If you think they cover yr issue very well and give the support in such fast time...i think there won't be any trouble for that...
In my past experienced, I did face the trouble of a web hosting provider that did not know about add on domain!!! hahahaha..so u better be careful! Cheers
I think that's the questions for the newbies. But, don't worry...I will cover those issues based on my knowledge and my experiences.
In order for you to create those mails, you must be in your web server. Check out for the emails feature. You could create the mail accounts from the email feature page. Normally, a web hosting account will offer such unlimited email accounts.
Now we are talking for the name of @xxx.com..I think of all us have our own desire name on it. But, although the web hosting package will say "UNLIMITED EMAIL ACCOUNT". That doesn't mean you can create any name, @xxx.com for it. The name must be based on your domain name.. As an example you have a domain name of www.snacks.com so the email will be firstname.lastname@example.org.
You couldn't create any name unless you have other domain name that match to your wish. E.g you want email@example.com Therefore you have to own a domain of www.mybox.com.au. I think my explanation is pretty clear and if u have any questions you may ask me. :)

Let me give you an example to make it more clear. I'm taking a simple example a company : dexterous technologies. They choose the dexteroustech.com. Wut a name! They tend to make the visitors in wrong spelling and it's hard to remember!
But, when we are talking on how easy the domain names to be remembered....don't make a nasty shot on choosing it. Since I'm telling you that the domain name must be easy, you just pick www.22.com for your jewelry web site. That's out of the mind and you will face a hard time with the searching engine (key word).
Let say you do have a company, a web site and wish to sell jewelries online. Your company is bestquality enterprise. So, instead of use the name bestquality.com,choose the www.best-jewelry.com. That's easy right? Your customer will remember you and in the same time your domain name will work well with the searching engines! So, do you get it? I think you are in the clear position about this issue and I hope it will help lot of people out there!
The most horror part of all is when they actually hide the big cash hidden fees. It would be a horrible nightmare for you!
Since we call it as free web server, do the companies cover the 24/7 support for us? Check that!! If the technical service is bad your sites will be nothing and won't be alive!
As a conclusion, be careful on these free web server service. make a study on them! But not all free server companies give a bad service. Some of them do excellent! The most important part is you must make a deep study before choosing to use their services
although this is the most easy ever but u need a high speed internet for making the files transaction sweet and smooth as ever. But if u have the slow internet just forget it cuz u need 100 cups of coffee for waiting the processes get over.
Actually I did add some videos by default by the widget but I'm afraid if they just do the random video. I did view in the youtube and this is one of the best video tutorial on it.
mm...some people did ask me "how the FTP do the website hosting?' "how FTP helps web master to do the hosting?" In this case I like to use an analogy to make a better understanding on it. In the previous postings I did say the web server is a pencil box or pencil case.
So, right now on we can imagine our websites are the pencil, pen, rubber or even the sharpener. If we have those things for sure we will put them in the pencil case right? "So how to put them in the pencil box?" "We use our hand right?"
So, the same thing goes here. The FTP help us to put our websites in the web server. :)
Without hosting it, it's zero and useless for buying the web hosting, buying the domain name and do the domain name registration.
So in order for you to put your web sites in the web server, you need the FTP to do the website hosting. I know there are bundles of FTP software out there. So for the newbie it must be hard to do selection. From my very own experiences, the best FTP software is FileZilla FTP. It's really easy to use and the transfer time is much faster than the others. I'll stop now for this issue and I'll come with "what is FTP?", "Tutorial on using FTP" and "website hosting without FTP"

If u r a man minded on security...it's not about which package that you are using at. But, check out for the highly skill from the hosting provider...Are they skilled enough??? That's the most important part.
So, we are moving on the performance. Look, if you are using only PHP web site. In this case you are focusing in only one technology so u be better to use Linux web server... So, that's better cuz normally Linux will focus in one certain technology. But u must check it out whether your package did cover all technologies or emphasizing on one...
If u r working with some shared web server i.e u have the add on domain features...like u do have php, asp.net, vb.net web site n so on....so u must choose the package that cover all of them....So I think u do understand on that right? :)
If u do have some questions just leave them here n i'll give my best shot then...Adios!!!

For many newbie, they used to keep a question "what is Linux web hosting?" and "what's Windows web server?". When i was “that baby” I used to search about those 2 issues.. but the result went bad. it was because there were not so many articles that elaborated this issue precisely. The worst part was they just gave the answer based on their very point of view.
After a long searching, at last I got the answer! Well, I won't use the hard approach on the briefing. I know many of the readers are not the IT guys...so i 'll use the simple word ever!
Windows web server : It's developed and owned by Microsoft . (it's not free)
Linux web server : It's an open source and generally it's free
Since I did give such a short brief on those servers. So there is a question rise up. “Which kind of server that I should buy at?”
To answer this question I have some questions back. “What kind of technologies that you want to run at?” and “What the databases usage are?” Well, well….if you are intend to use Microsoft product such as ASP, FrontPage, the .NET environment, Windows Streaming Media, Access, MSSQL, or etc (Microsoft family), you need to use a Windows host, probably.
A question rise up again “Is that mean I can’t host my .Net web in the Linux Web server?”
Generally, these technologies are limited in Linux but if they do cover the Microsoft products they could be more expensive than the Windows.
Again “why?”. As I mention on the short briefing, the answer is Linux is open source and they didn’t develop the Microsoft. Hence, if they intend to add the Microsoft features, they must be need more budget to inject those things in the package (Linux Web Server).
I think I did explain this issue with the simplest word that it could be. Since I don’t want to bundle all issue in one article, I’ll separate it to be the smaller one. After this I’m going to cover on “the performance and the security between both of them” after this. Adios!!!

So check out the web hosting package. Are they covered your requirements? The second part : make a study on the web space and the bandwith. You must make sure how big your files are. Just like a simple example : The total of your files are 5G but the hosting plan just provides 3G for the web space. So you can't make it!
Check the bandwith : if you do have many websites in one sharing web hosting, make sure the bandwith is big enough. If you do have the small one, I suggest you to find the bigger one. It's very important if you do have the tons gold mine traffic or you do target on the large sum of new visitors to your sites.
Thirdly : Check the additional features that they have. It's like unlimited email account, site management features (i.e hotlink protection and IP deny manager), and pre installed scripts.
Fourthly : check their profile on how good they are in the hosting services area. It's very important to know their past background with their customers. Are they too slow on overcome the customers problem? Are they capable enough?
Fifthly : Make many comparison for the web hosting plan with many web hosting company. make sure your money is worth enough for your web hosting service.Well, be a smart user ! :)
Tuesday, August 21, 2007
well, well, the precise answer is you can add many domains in one server. For your info, this process we call as add on domain. I think right now on u r clear enough with this.
But, before that u mustn't cheer up in joy cuz u have to check out your server package. Do yr package cover the add on feature? How many numbers of the domain that could be covered?
So, if your package don't have the feature that's mean u can't any of them. If yr feature just cover 5 domains for maximum that's mean u can't more than 5 sites in once.
So, i think u r pretty clear with this thing right?? i'll come back with the other issue later. adios!!
Saturday, August 18, 2007
mmm...that's absolutely wrong!!! the precise answer is you can use your linux web hosting in any OS that you use for your machine. It's okay if you use windows XP and operate your Cpanel there. Nothing wrong with it! It won't slow down your work, making some functions couldn't work properly and many other thing that across in your mind by using linux server in your windows machine.!!! No, nada!! It just goes smooth and sweet as well!! :)

“what is domain name”? “I think domain name is bundle in web hosting” Those were the question and the comment from my friends when somebody did ask them on a domain name. Some of them simply couldn't make any differentiate between domain name and “web hosting”. So let me give you some explanation on it and give some short and simple analogy.
Domain name is the name of our web site as an example we have yahoo web page, it's
www.yahoo.com, so the domain name is yahoo.com
Another example we have hotmail web page, so the domain name is hotmail.com. You still don’t get it? Let say, we go to Kentucky Fried Chicken website via www.kfc.com. Thus the domain name is kfc.com
mmm..it's easy right to understand?? :) i'll come back with the other topic and review! adios!!!
It's really hard to understand some terms and how to deal with the package, database management and many more. Hence, I decided to up my new blog that just emphasize on one topic ----hosting. Well, I hope all of us could share the knowledge together and it will be benefited to all especially those newbie in web hosting. That's all for now and I'll come with the next post later.

“what is web hosting”??Many of my friends said “umm..well web hosting is web hosting”!! What it's all about? and some of people just said "what the hell is that?" By these kind of questions I will give the definition with 2 terms : 1. with school books words 2.with some example to help u understand easier.
1. school books wording :
”Web hosting” is the space that you buy from the web hosting provider so you can publish/upload your website to that server for the whole world to see. That is web hosting in a nutshell.
You still don't get on what the web hosting is??? So let me give u some simple example on web hosting.
When you buy the school stuff e.g pen, pencil, eraser, sharpener n etc, u must have a pencil case to put all of them in one place together..... so, the same thing goes in this case
web hosting/web server = pencil case
websites or any files = the school stuff...
**web hosting is also called as web server. I think my explanation is clear enough for every body and I hope this posting will help lots of people out there. Cheers!!!
